Free farm records for African farmers

Our passion

We're passionate about seeing African farmers become successful, and it starts with good farm records.

Write down everything that happens on your farm. Your records show where a season went well and where it went wrong, so you can do better next time.

What you can record

• Crops

Plantings, ploughing, spraying, fertiliser, weeding, irrigation and harvests, with the product and the amount you used.

• Animals

One animal, or a whole herd or flock: births, deaths, sales, weights, vaccinations, dosing, dipping, treatments, eggs and milk.

• Money

What you spent and what you sold, by crop or herd. Masimo works out the gross margin and break-even price of each crop.

• Pests and diseases

What you see, with a photo, how bad it is and how you treated it.

• Reminders

Dipping, dosing, spraying, payments or anything else. Your phone can tell you when one is due.

• Reports

Crop season, herd, money and disease reports. Download them as a PDF, or send a short summary on WhatsApp to your lender, co-op or extension officer.

Made for the farm

• Works with no signal. Everything is saved on your phone first.
• Big buttons and few words. You tap more than you type.
• Works on low-cost phones, with nothing to download from an app store.
• In English and Português.
• Free for farmers.

Where Masimo works

Masimo is for farmers across Southern Africa (SADC), Uganda and Rwanda. You can choose these countries now:

• South Africa
• Lesotho
• Eswatini
• Botswana
• Namibia
• Zimbabwe
• Mozambique
• Zambia
• Malawi
• Uganda
• Rwanda

Masimo uses your country's currency and lists your provinces or districts.

Your records are yours

Your records are saved on your phone. With a free account, Masimo backs them up, so you can get them back on another phone. You choose whether to lock your backup so only you can open it. You can download all your records as spreadsheet files at any time.

Coming to Masimo

We are building these now. The more you record, the more they can help your farm.

• Weather forecast for your farm

See the rain and heat coming, so you can plan when to plant, spray and harvest.

• Advice from your own records

When you have recorded enough, Masimo will look at your past seasons and show you what to do better.

Who makes Masimo
